The art of 3D printing is not futuristic anymore, it’s a new way of creating typography artworks. Hongtao Zhou is one of the first creatives practicing this new field. Printing technology was first created in ancient China to reproduce text using woodblocks. Textscape today generates letter-sized 3D documents to visually profile the subject matters of the texts, such as cities, landscapes or figures. Like that the process of reading a document is going to be a special interactive process, also for people who can’t read braille.
