Details On Why WWE Had Ronda Rousey Beat Liv Morgan At Extreme Rules [Report]
On her third try against Liv Morgan, Ronda Rousey emerged victorious to become the new SmackDown Women's Champion at Saturday's Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
The Baddest Woman on the Planet lost her title to Liv Morgan at Money in the Bank following Rousey's successful title defense against Natalya. Morgan had opted to cash in the briefcase on the night she won the Money in the Bank ladder match, and it proved to be the right call.
Morgan won a subsequent rematch four weeks later at SummerSlam, becoming the first wrestler to pin the former UFC star twice in the WWE. But at Extreme Rules, Rousey managed to defeat Morgan via technical submission to win back the title she had lost three months earlier.
In the newest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (subscription required), Dave Meltzer reported that WWE booked Rousey to defeat Morgan as the company's "idea" was to simply "complete the long-planned Rousey heel turn."

Had Morgan defeated The Baddest Woma on the Planet , she would have hit the milestone 100-day mark as the holder of the SmackDown Women's Championship. Instead, her career-changing title reign came to an end at 97 days, and Rousey is celebrating her second run with the championship.

Will WWE Run Ronda Rousey vs. Becky Lynch?
Many fans have long awaited a dream singles match between Rousey and Becky Lynch. Those two stars and Charlotte Flair headlined WrestleMania 35 in a triple threat match, with Lynch pinning Rousey (albeit in controversial fashion) to become the Raw and SmackDown Women's Champion.
Lynch became a babyface after losing to Bianca Belair at SummerSlam, but the former unfortunately suffered a separated shoulder injury and has been out of action ever since. There's no clear timeline on when Lynch will return, but one can only guess that WWE will eventually pit the two main event stars against one another. For what it's worth, Meltzer reported back in February that Lynch vs. Rousey was in WWE's plans for WrestleMania 39.
